Weekly Wish List | Makeup & Beauty

This weeks wish list includes a few bits i've been meaning to purchase for so long, but have simply never gotten around it it. The YSL Touche Eclat is something i've been after for such a long time, but for some unknown reason, it's never made it into my shopping basket! The hunt for a face oil is still on and i just cannot decide what to get. Any recommendations wouldn't go amiss! The Korres Face mask is something i stumble across on feel unique and loved the sounds of! Anything that has rose in and uses the word"brightening" in the title has me utterly sold! The Tom Ford lipstick is something i've wanted for an unimaginable amount of time, but at a price like that, i still don't think it's going to happen any time soon...but look at the colour *sigh*. Finally is the Eve Lom Full size face mask that i reviewed a week or so ago! I received a sample in my most recent SpaceNK order and both me and my mum absolutely love it and it smells amaaazing!

Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask | Review

My first leap into the world of skin care was with my old faithful brand Origins. I put a few items down on my Christmas list and have been hooked on beauty products ever since! This was one of the first few items from Origins that i tried along with receiving a moisturiser and a cleanser.  I thought it was about time i started making a little more effort with my skin as i am at that age where taking good care of it now will really help its appearance in the future!  When i lived in London and daily to'ings and fro'ings from uni on the tube in a full face of makeup began to take it's toll, leaving my skin looking duller than it usually would, with my skin has absorbing the pollution from the city. So once a week i whip out the Origins Clear Improvement mask and apply a layer all over my face but concentrating mostly on my cheeks and my skin, where i tend to get blemishes and leave it on for roughly 20 minutes to half an hour. Origins claims that the active charcoal acts like magnet to draw the dirt that gets clogged in your pores and the clay absorbs environmental pollutants and dissolves the impurities. This mask really does feel like it is drawing out the built up dirt that you get from day to day errand running and makes your skin feel so clean and fresh. Perfect mask for a friday night after a long week at work or uni i think! So after deciding to give my skin a little more lovin', i have faithfully used this mask once a week since getting it at Christmas and i can say that my skin has never looked as good as it does now. Whilst i don't think it's all down to this mask alone, i think it does really help to draw out my skins impurities and leaves me with fresh, clean skin!

Antipodes Juliet Skin Brightening Gel Cleanser | Review

One of my most favourite brands at the moment is New Zealand based Antipodes! I first noticed the brand on Kate's blog Gh0st Parties where i noticed her talking about their famous Aura Manuka Honey Mask which i have also purchased and will do a review on! I was instantly drawn to the brands packaging which is really simple in brown jars and bottles and also tubes which i find really practical. The brands ethics also really appeal to me as Antipodes are completely organic and vegetarian approved and use only 100% natural bio active ingredients to help improve the skins appearance naturally. My first purchases on organic skin care website Naturismo were the aforementioned Manuka Honey Mask and this Skin Brightening Juliet Cleanser. I was searching the Naturismo looking for a morning cleanser that would wake my skin up and leaving it bright, fresh and awake looking and tis seemed to tick all the boxes! My package arrived in super quick time with free delivery which was a plus and i promptly ran to the bathroom to test out this cleanser. As a gel it doesn't foam as much as an ordinary cleanser but you can still get a good lather to build up if you work it with your fingers on your skin. After washing this off my skin didn't feel tight at all and left my skin feeling really nourished, hydrated and clean. After using this for roughly a month and a half i feel safe to say that this has really made a difference to my skin! My skin looks brighter and more awake when i use this and i think it has improved the overall brightness to my skin on a day to day basis! I would definitely recommend this cleanser and the brand Antipodes for those looking for a natural skin care brand whose prices aren't through the roof and are readily available in the UK.

Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate | Review

So today i'm doing a little review of something i've been using for roughly a month or so now! I bought  the Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate after looking for something lightweight to wear while i was at home that would give a little flush of  colour without having to wear a full face of makeup. I'm currently back at home on a work placement and on some days i get to work from home so started looking for tinted moisturisers when i stumbled upon this! The Bronze Concentrate is  basically a liquid bronzer that you can apply on it's own or with a moisturiser (which i tend to do!) It's said to eliminate skin impurities, scars and lack of pigmentation by giving the skin a natural glow and healthy appearance.  When you pump this product out the colour can be a little intimidating, but once its mixed in with a moisturiser and applied, it gives a really subtle flush of colour to the skin. I really think this is such a versatile product when compared to just a tinted moisturiser, as you can mix it in with moisturisers or even your foundation in summer to darken the tone when your skin is a few shades warmer! I've been using this in conjunction with a Clarins gradual face tanner and i feel my skin has never looked healthier than it has now and this really helps to enhance it! This is the first Dr. Hauschka product i've tried and i am really impressed and am definitely looking to the brand for further purchases! The brand is also organic and natural, which i love as i try to mostly use natural products on my face!

(Direct from the pump without being blended)

(Blended)

(I choose to mix the Dr Hauschka Bronze Concentrate with my current day moisturiser which is the Origins Make A Difference Plus Rejuvenating Treatment.)

Weekly Wish List | Skin Care

I've been looking for a face oil for a while now and i'm trying to use all natural products on my face. I've heard good things about the Pai Face Oil from ViviannaDoesMakeup, but its a toss up between this and the Antipodes Divine Oil, one of these is next on my purchase list i think! Next is the Ren Invisible Pores Detox Mask, which i would love to try out as i only have one clay mask at the moment. I've also used to Ren Glycolactic Acid mask which is my favourite mask ever, so i really would love to try more from Ren! The NUXE dry oil is something i've been hearing a lot about lately and as i'm coming to the end of my hair oil, would love to give it a whirl (that, plus it smells like jasmine!). As i have really dry, cracking lips in winter, i always feel like i need a really intensive lip product to use overnight to help add some moisture to my lips. The NUXE balm has had really good reviews and sounds really deeply moisturiaing and would love to try it. FInally is the Elemental Herbology Purify & Sooth Cleanser which is apparently supposed to be quite similar to the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Balm. This, being slighter cheaper and more natural, really appeals much more to me and i've also never used a balm cleanser before!

Do you have any products you're really loving at the moment that you can recommend to me?

Eve Lom Rescue Mask | Review

This deep cleansing mask by Eve Lom is something i've been cooing over for a while now, so when i received a sample in my most recent Space.NK order i was pretty chuffed! The mask claims to help boost your complexion and is an emergency treatment for sluggish, stressed out skin. I didn't use this straight away as i wanted to wait until i had a few blemishes to really see if this would help when my skin was more congested than usual. After a day at my new work placement, my skin was feeling pretty lack luster and had started to break out in a few small blemishes, so the first thing i did when i got home was whip this rescue mask out! I applied this in a thin layer all over my face and then topped it up on the areas that needed a little more help and left in on for about 20 minutes (which is recommended). The texture is quite smooth but has some gritty almond bits which also make it feel quite exfoliating and dries without feeling too tight and flaky. The mask has Almond and Honey-infused Kaolin Clay which helps to reduce puffiness and absorbs excess oils which i love for my combination skin. After i washed this off with warm water, my skin felt so smooth and soft and like i had really given it a proper treat! Any redness and inflammation was reduced greatly and my skin felt really soothed.

(please excuse the wild eyebrows, these have since been tended to!)

Whilst this mask is marked at quite a steep price point at £35 for only 50ml, it's something i would definitely be interested in purchasing full size when i feel like a (really special) skin treat. The mask has also won the Instyle award for "Best Mask for Congested Skin" for seven consecutive years. Umm wow? You can by the Eve Lom Rescue Mask directly from the Eve Lom website or from your local Space NK.

What are your favourite clay face masks? Have you used products from Eve Lom before?
